Name: Neophyte Redglare

Series: Homestuck

Personality: Redglare stands for everything the troll judicial system is. She is cruel and relentless, believing her judgments are absolute. She prides herself as the legislacerator. The term is a mish-mash of two words: legislator and laceration.

She is very stubborn. When a verdict is given, she will not be swayed from it. If she believes one to be guilty, then it is fact that the person is indeed guilty. Nothing would sway her otherwise.

Her judgment is in black and white. Ambiguity doesn’t exist for her. To Redglare, someone is either guilty or innocent. The guilty parties are disgusting to her, ultimately sentencing them to death, no matter how petty the crime. Her judgment is absolute. There are no exceptions.

True, she is but a beginner, however, she is very skilled in the art of law and order.

History: The ancestor of Terezi Pyrope and a neophyte legislacerator who was sent to apprehend Mindfang and bring her to justice after the incident with Dualscar. She is said to be quite talented, but she is still inexperienced, as evidenced by the title “Neophyte”. Redglare’s partner, Pyralspite.

She eventually captures Mindfang, who underestimated her, not knowing about her dragon lusus Pyralspite. Coincidentally, Pyrope is a type of Pyralspite garnet. Mindfang’s sensitive vision eightfold is burned out by looking into the dragon’s bright eyes, and her arm is severed by Redglare.

During her trial however, Mindfang manipulates the spectators into turning against Redglare, rather than herself. The rioting spectators pull her from the central court platform and proceed to hang her from the noose intended for Mindfang.

“That witch!

The blind legislacerator hissed, her dragon-headed staff twirled in her arms, now hanging limp over her shoulders. She spoke so bitterly, so hatefully towards a certain witch she was ordered to condemn.

She hated her.

She hated everything about her.

“She can’t escape my judgment forever! She’s a condemned criminal. A criminal, a criminal criminal criminal!

The staff was slammed to the ground, a makeshift mirror before her. Her angered expression shifted to despair, hands cupping the space in front of her chest.

“How dare she have bigger breasts than me!” A pause. Her hands dropped. “… Among other things. Yes.”

——-

I am shameless.

Barnaby discovered his NEXT powers as a result of the distress he went through after his parents’ deaths.

Stress would accelerate NEXT power development, as seen when the mayor’s kid starts crying. \o\

I think Barnaby is actually very selfish.

He doesn’t want to believe that maybe Kotetsu can sympathize with him, or even consider his own situation. (His wife is missing, I believe, I theorize that she either died or left him in general), and taking care of a daughter while still being a hero is tough on its own.

However, Kotetsu has ways of breaking into Barnaby’s shell.

The three Bad Friends know well how to put up convincing pokerfaces.

Antonio, Francis, and Gilbert have all gone through their fair share of painful events. By now, they’ve all learned how to fake smiles and cheer just to ensure the other never has to worry.

They would never break down in front of each other.

Truly a menace?

Sure, Gamzee Makara spaces out quite a bit, and his habits aren’t exactly the best, but his intelligence is actually surprisingly up there. When he’s not spacey, he has a good head on his shoulders..

Regarding that, he is also very accepting. No matter how many disagreements exist between him and whomever he may associate with, he will always figure out ways to look past them and still stay on a level with the other.

Loyal, accepting, willing to make sacrifices— he is the perfect friend.

Bad Friends Trio: Strength Levels

As far as combat goes, each of the Bad Friends hold their own strengths and weaknesses. I am basing this on their signature weapons.

SPAIN:

Hey may not look it, but he is very strong for a man of his stature. A good level of upper body strength is needed to wield an axe, let alone a pole-axe.  As far as weapons go, they’re rather shabby, wobbly and difficult to wield because of the lack of weight balance (The blade is obviously the heaviest part of the weapon). However, Antonio can hold the axe without problems, and knows well how to use it. His speed is low with it, but he could easily time his swings to get the best out of his sluggish weapon.

PRUSSIA:

Obviously, his signature weapon is a broadsword; balanced for striking speed and lightweight to add a little bit of boost into his step. He’s not exceptionally fast, and not exceptionally strong, but he is a good marksman and excels in barbaric combat. Even if he’s caught, one verses a hundred, he could at least escape the hoard alive. He’s a proud kingdom and would not step down from a fight, not even from the obviously bigger foe.

FRANCE:

He’s not strong. At all. Physically, he’s not a big attacker, excelling in the support role rather than the leading role. However, his reaction time and movement speed are both exceptional; both being necessary skills to properly battle using a rapier. They’re thin, almost flimsy swords, so doing much damage with them would be hard when the enemy is properly armored. However, do not underestimate him. Where he lacks in prowess, he makes up for with support to the end.

Ahhh~ Ponytail!

Descole’s mask

I believe he hides behind his mask and cape, not because he’s ugly, but because he’s actually very pretty to look at. He has a VERY high sense of pride, thus finds “normal” people unworthy of seeing his features.

Also, the eyes are the windows to the heart. Hide his eyes, it would be much more difficult to tell what he’s feeling.

Humanstuck Sollux

I haven’t really elaborated much on him, but why the fuck not? I’ll think hard on it.

  • He’s stingy.
  • He’s only a quarter Asian (Cambodian at best). For the most part, he looks white.
  • He has a love-hate attraction to Karkat

He was born out of the country and was moved to the USA with his parents at a young ace. He excelled in his classes.

Adding to this later.

More on Francis

The way I see it, Francis is

  • A womanizer
  • A smooth talker
  • Sets a good example for his “brothers”
  • Devout catholic

HOWEVER.

Bear in mind that he is also very old, so all these traits will prove to be dull if used only in the moral aspect of life. He’s gentle and caring, but that wouldn’t stop him from winding up on the wrong side of society, so to speak.

He will get himself wrapped up in a bad situation simply for the thrill of it. Perhaps he got involved in a gang situation, a gamble going wrong, anything. He would just as easily talk his way out of it, using his charm and smooth tongue to weasel out of being seriously hurt.

He’s very good at Poker.

If by any chance he gets a date, he will have quite a bit of trouble staying dedicated. The partner will have to wean him out of such a habit.
